National School Music Programme-Ukulele

Our National School Music Programme-Ukulele offers a vibrant, curriculum-aligned experience that prioritises fun, student engagement, and hands-on learning. With a minimum of 35 weekly visits from a dedicated music tutor throughout the school year (beginning mid to late September), students are immersed in a dynamic and inclusive music journey where they learn by doing.

Curriculum-Connected Learning

Our programme hits all key strands and strand units of the national music curriculum:

Listening and Responding

  • Exploring a wide range of sounds (environmental, vocal, instrumental, body percussion)
  • Responding to various musical styles and traditions
  • Developing musical awareness and appreciation

Performing

  • Singing in unison and simple parts
  • Playing the ukulele and rhythm instruments
  • Reading and performing simple rhythmic and melodic patterns

Composing

  • Encouraging improvisation and creativity
  • Composing short pieces with guidance
  • Talking about and reflecting on their own musical ideas
