About Us
National School Music Programme-Ukulele
Our National School Music Programme-Ukulele, offers a vibrant, curriculum-aligned experience that prioritises fun, student engagement, and hands-on learning. With a minimum of 35 weekly visits from a dedicated music tutor throughout the school year (beginning mid to late September), students are immersed in a dynamic and inclusive music journey where they learn by doing.
Curriculum-Connected Learning
Our programme hits all key strands and strand units of the national music curriculum:
🎧 Listening and Responding
Exploring a wide range of sounds (environmental, vocal, instrumental, body percussion)
Responding to various musical styles and traditions
Developing musical awareness and appreciation
🎤 Performing
Singing in unison and simple parts
Playing the ukulele and rhythm instruments
Reading and performing simple rhythmic and melodic patterns
🎼 Composing
Encouraging improvisation and creativity
Composing short pieces with guidance
Talking about and reflecting on their own musical ideas
